Every so often we come across a plant we do not know and we post them here to see if anyone out there can help identify it.

Here's one.  It has been suggested it is some sort of Dog Wood plant?

Hi everyone ~
This plant is not related to the dogwoods, that would be the Bunchberry, or Cornus canadensis.

This woodland flower is starting to flower right now, and it is called the Canada Mayflower. In French, it's 'le Maiantheme du Canada' related to its scientific name, Maianthemum canadense.

Here's a link to its description and more photos:

Cheers!
